Total number of confirmed kills: 775. Photo taken in Germany, May 4, 1945.
And this hasn’t been made into a movie or mini series?
The cool thing is, there’s still one person missing: Lyudmila Pavlichenko.
She was one of the deadliest snipers of World War II, and is regarded as one of the deadliest snipers of all time. Over the course of one year (June 1941-June 1942) she racked up a count of 309 kills, 36 of which were enemy snipers. Her prescence in the picture alone would have brought the total number of kills from 755 to 1064.
One of my favorite things to see is random people trying to interact with unfamiliar outdoor cats. Just standing there with a hand out, making kissy noises, maybe meowing at the cat while it ignores them. Mankind at its best and least dignified
if you want to interact with a cat that doesn’t know you, sit down not facing it. glance at it occasionally and make an inviting noise, but mostly just play with your phone or whatever.
the cat will almost certainly come over to check you out sooner or later. it’ll stay out of arm’s reach because it doesn’t know if you’re a jerk. offer your hand and let the cat sniff. wait. if the cat wants pettins, it will indicate that by noofing your hand, flopping on its side, or coming in close.
the cat may want to be bros but not get pettins. in that case, it will sit or lie near you but out of reach. this is friendly! the cat is saying, you’re a person in my neighborhood! hi neighbor!
of course, it’s possible that the cat is a great big cuddleslut and will come love all over you. that happens too. but if it doesn’t, that doesn’t mean it’s an unfriendly cat. be chill and let the cat choose how close to get, and you’ll find most cats are pretty friendly.
The only information that matters
A regular cat PSA. Cats are social critters, and like humans, cats have their boundaries and preferences. Many a cat will want to say hi to newcomer to welcome them to the cat neighbourhood, and some will want to just acknowledge a visitor. Respecting the boundaries of friend new cat will help the next person because the cat will know peoples are capable of being good peoples.
Occasionally you get one who has never met a boundary. I was crossing a housing development in England once, a place I had most definitely never been before, and I heard an urgent meowing. A fat fluffy fellow was coming at a rapid pace across the lawn, yelling at me to make sure I waited for him so I could pet him. Lots.
I told him he was foolish, I could have been some kind of cat serial killer, but he was purring too hard to listen.
it’s actually evil that ppl wanna say that they support bi women but then as soon as a bi woman is dating a man & she wants to talk about her attraction she’s shut down in lgbt spaces bc no one wants to hear about het relationships. if you shut down bi ppl discussing their attraction to the opposite gender then you are not an ally to bi ppl & you never were
i encourage you all to reblog this
it’s just that they feel being bi is ‘half gay’. Like we can joke about it but fr that’s how they treat it. As always, ambiguity bothers people.
Okay, how the hell. This is THE most crystal clear version of Smile Bomb I’ve listened to, and the creditless opening video is also like SHARP, like holy shit this is as if it were released TODAY type of clarity and it’s messing with me.
Can I just say how utterly iconic Yu Yu Hakusho is, like I’ve barely watched the series and seen the characters but I can remember most of the characters I know in vivid detail as far as design and powers go and that’s just amazing to me
